Since 2010, Newsworthy Vision Ltd. has been providing crewing and equipment to some of the worlds largest television networks.
Based in London, United Kingdom, we specialise in international newsgathering and current affairs, remote location transmission of material, and multi-camera live event broadcasting.
Nick has been working in the television industry since 1999 in regional Australia. He worked his way into the metropolitan newsgathering world and discovered his passion for breaking news and remote location broadcasting. Working as a news camera operator and editor, he learned the skills needed for transmitting live television via microwave links, and even via satellite from extremely remote locations.
He has been expertly trained in the use of helicopter mounted FLIR cameras, and even won an Australian Cinematography Society award as part of a team for his aerial photography in 2009.
In 2010, and after self-learning the editing system Final Cut Pro 7, he moved to the United Kingdom, and set up Newsworthy Vision Ltd., operating as a freelance news camera operator in London.
He was hired regularly as a camera operator and editor, as there was a shortage of multi-skilled operators, enabling him to travel extensively with many television networks.
He was Hostile Environment and Awareness trained in 2011 and travelled to Iraq for a month and a half to cover the United States troop pullout from the country for CNN International. He was also nominated for an Emmy in the "Outstanding breaking news coverage" category, as part of a team from CNN covering the Manchester Concert Attack in 2017.
Over nine years as a freelance news cameraman, he has specialised in live broadcasting and live streaming. The company purchased a Dejero Live+ mobile transmitter in 2018 to allow live television to be broadcast to anywhere in the world via fibre & cellular networks.
With the acquisition of a Sony PMW-F5 camera in 2016, now with a CN7x17 lens attached, he can shoot any corporate event, breaking news or outside broadcast in full 4K. He's also able to provide an entire multi-camera production switching facility for your event and live stream it to the world in real time.
He has dual Australian and Irish citizenship, allowing unrestricted visa-free travel throughout Europe, South East-Asia and many other countries. He has worked extensively in Russia, the Middle East, and Europe covering political upheavals, riots, entertainment and sporting events.
If you're looking to hire a camera operator in London for a live cross, live stream your event as an outside broadcast, or hire equipment for your production then don't hesitate to get in touch.
